Piano Lessons

Piano Lessons are scheduled weekly for 30-45 minutes depending on the student’s age and skill level.  Lessons are tailored specifically to each student’s needs and goals.  Students will learn to read music, understand music theory, play different styles of music, learn to practice productively, use technology to enhance lessons and most of all, enjoy music.

Regular attendance of lessons is essential to ensure success and continued progress.

The lesson is a very small part of the week.  Practice needs will fluctuate with each lesson.  The goal should never be to merely fulfill a certain number of minutes, but rather, to thoroughly prepare the assignment and to achieve the personal satisfaction of steady progress.

Group classes are held three times a year.  Students are arranged in groups according to age and level.

Numerous opportunities are available for students to develop performance skills.  There are two studio recitals for students to share their music with family and friends.  There are also group class performances and optional MAPTA and MMTA auditions.

Summer is a very productive time for lessons.  Students are required to take a minimum of 6 lessons throughout the summer, and are based on a flexible schedule to allow for vacation time and summer acitivities.
